Choke Adjustment
It take five or six pumps of the gas pedal, while the engine is turning over, to get it to start.
Once started, slight pressure on the gas pedal needs to remain to keep the engine running.
I am trying to adjust the choke so it will stay closed (rich) longer, giving more time for the engine to warm up.
From what I understand,.. that black ring or plate needs to be rotated counterclockwise to richen the choke.
There are supposed tp be three screws 120 degrees apart to loosen, in order to rotate the choke plate.
Looks to me that the three screw have been replaced with pop-rivets?? Not allowing the choke plate to be adjusted.
Any ideas?? Please advise!!
Thanks!!

Also, verify your vacuum advance is going to full manifold vacuum at idle and not ported.....I believe you have it on the ported right now but hard to tell.
Remove the teflon tape from the flare fitting. You do not seal flare fittings at the threads of the flare nut.
Check ignition timing as well......you need to be 36 degrees total at 3000rpm.
Looks like you scored a very nice Edelbrock unit......these have been discontinued for over ten years.
With the Edelbrock you will need the Lisle Q-Jet idle screw tool.

Yes, if you want to adjust the choke those rivets must be removed.
First I would start by connecting your distributor vacuum advance hose to a full manifold vacuum port.
Where you have it now is ported vacuum on the 1903
The one capped off just above and to the left is Full Manifold vacuum.
The choke plate should be open about 1/4" to 5/16" after engine first starts on a cold start.
