Well this old man rolled around in his driveway for a month grappling with a complete front suspension refresh. Made my own spring compressor, pressed out bushings the hard way, cut 2” out of springs and reassembled everything with poly bushings, new ball joints and tr ends as well as the shortened springs. I’m really satisfied with my new ride height. Just have to get some new bilsteins and an alignment . Can’t wait. Thanks for the advice that helped me through a pretty physical but satisfying project. See the before and after ride height.
looks great! I've been there myself! Still getting the bugs out of the Alignment. lowering the car affects the camber big time.
I plan to take the car into a shop and let the professionals deal with it. Hopefully there are no complications. I do have only 4” clearance at the oil pan which is a bit of a concern . Checked clearance on our family Jetta and it sits at 4.5” with no problems so maybe careful driving will be satisfactory.
Why was the front end so high in the first place? Normally the front gets lower on older cars. Looks perfect now.
I don’t have much experience with Corvettes but the majority of C3s I see ride way too high. Mine was all original , never modified. Case in point , I googled Silver Anniversary Corvette and most images look like this one. Sits like the Mayflower.

I agree you will see a lot of C3's that look like that,,,, but it's because someone screwed it up. They didn't come that way. Usually it's because someone put some kind of aftermarket shti on their car. Especially a 50 year old car. If anything it would sit to low.
You have done a great job in restoring the correct look. Really cool car.
