Default Oil pressure sensor

I have a question I’m currently building a 1971 corvette stingray with a blueprint 383 stroker and was wondering even with the 350 did it have a oil pressure sensor with a wire or was it just a straight hose from the block to the sensor inside the car

It was a pipe from the back of the engine block straight to the gauge in the dash. If you aren't concerned with originality you might consider converting to an electric gauge, if the pipe develops a leak on the cabin side of the firewall it can make a big mess in a very short time.

okay thank you well I wasn’t sure it’s all brand new it’s all brand new even the copper tubing but the guage isn’t reading a oil pressure so I’m gonna guess the guage could possibly be bad becuase ive had the motor running for a few minutes at a time which should be long enough to get a reading but I haven’t nothing is ready but I’ll have to talk to my boss and see what he wants to do thank you

Loosen the pipe where is connects to the engine slightly while someone cranks the motor over, there should be oil leaking there immediately if not something is wrong in the engine, if there is oil there then the problem may be with the gauge.

I confirmed it’s the guage I get oil all the way inside the car but guage isn’t reading None of the guages are reading no voltage or water temp so I’m guessing all of them could be bad thank you for the help

The oil pressure gauge does not require electrical power to function. It is a Bourdon tube mechanical movement which is actuated by fluid pressure in the line.
You may have a 'dried-oil' plug in the line of the gauge mechanism might be binding. Remove the line at the rear of the engine and blow compressed air into it. Cycle some strong puffs into the line. It may free up a 'plug' in the line or free the gauge mechanism. Worth a try........

IIRC, OE '71 has small diameter plastic line from block fitting to gauge.
