Lol I forgot I put navy on my profile. Where could I find a replacement? I've looked for it in the usual websites but can't find anything. Maybe I'm searching with the wrong terms.
Another option would be getting a piece of aluminum , cutting the hols needed and the epoxying on top.
That's exactly what I would do. Cut out a piece of aluminum or tin, pop rivet it on, paint it black if you want to be fancy, and put your resistor back on.
Mine got bumped with the header on an engine Install.... I used fiberglass matt but I coated it real heavy with JB weld instead of resin... This gave me better adhesion and faster cure time which reduced sag, worked like a charm. Yours is bigger and all on the top, I would use something thin like a beer can so you can form it to fit tight, pop rivet that on a little and then glass over top to seal it and you can make it pretty as you want from there.. I looked at changing mine and decided discretion is the better part of valor...Plus the JB weld is about the same color and you have to look close to see it..

PS: Do you care to tell us how that happened?

This is how a 1ft x 2ft piece fits. Snug enough fit I didn’t peel-stick it on one car. Easier to remove for future servicing and leaves a little air space for more insulation. There is also room to add a little on the inside of the box where it’s closest to the header.
I’ll check were it came from later today. 1x2ft high temp insulation with adhesive backing. I didn’t remove the paper covering the adhesive on one of my cars. It’s a tight enough fit it doesn’t go anywhere. On the less original car I glued it down. Works the same.
@Kerschmolar got a link for that? No adhesive? Just forms? I am going to try it in addition to what i have
Sorry, I’m not very good at links. Mine came from PegasusRacing.com.. I remember seeing the same thing on Summit, they must have been out of it at the time.
Use some of the thin throw away cutting boards and lay some Mat and Resin maybe two layers thick. Wait till it sets up and peel it off the cutting board cause it cant stick to it. Grind out the hole and test fit your new piece. Then cut a hole and test fit the Metal part with the 2 Screws. How are the Screws attached ? Some Sheet Metal or Nuts could be attached underneath wile its still loose. Once You happy with how everything fits Duct Tape 2 corners to hold it in place/ Lay a thin layer of Fiberglass across the remaining corners. Once it has set up remove the Duct Tape and lay a couple of layers across the whole thing. Wait overnight and sand it smooth and it will look like it never even happened. Never use Woven Mat. add some Black Color to the Resin, it will dry jet black but when sanded will turn dark grey just like the OEM fiberglass. Its available from Amazon. This sounds like a very long and time consuming process. Probably 6 hours start to finish with 5 of the hours waiting drying time when You can be doing something else.
