I was given this motor by my good friend’s widow. He bought it new from a Chevy dealer in 1969 as a LT-1 engine ? …….I remember him saying he ask for the highest horsepower SBC they could get him. He street raced for about a year and then switched to BBC. Motor then sat under the work bench until last year.

350 standard bore 618 block, 186 heads, 11:1 pistons, forged crank, 472 intake, solid lifter cam, ‘69 Corvette valve covers. So far that’s as far as I have got
Gotcha. I would check the depth of the mounting surface on your water pump to ensure that it is where it is supposed to be. My initial guess is that it got pushed back on it's shaft. Just a guess because I am not outside looking at mine.
