Oliver, I was curious does the track say anything about racing your convertible with no rollbar? I realize you race with your hard top, I plan to do the same. NHRA rules state all convertibles 13.99 and faster require rollbars. I know once you hit 1.99 you need a 6tp.
Have they ever made a comment?
Thanks

If you run with a hardtop - it's the same as running with a coupe - so you are legal to 12.00!!

A convertible with soft top only has to have a roll bar if faster then 13.99...
I also would need a driveshaft loop.. Last night they asked me: "Do you have a aftermarket driveshaft loop" and I had to lie... Luckily they didn't look :D :D

VERY good news, thanks!
Your setup sounds like a 11 second setup... They might kick you out of the strip anyway after your first run because you'll be below 12.00... :D :D :seeya :seeya . I'm hoping to get kicked out soon... :jester
I'd think halfshaft loops would be more important for a Corvette anyway.
It's not in their rule book.. The only thing that the rule book says is that you need driveshaft loops... I might even install one.. They are not all that expensive...
Jegs, Summit, and P.A.W. has them as well. I have NEVER seen the tech guy look for a driveshaft loop yet at No Problem Raceway. I guess they don't enforce until 11's?

You are right... It looks like nobody actually checks anything before you start running 11's... So far - I was only asked once if I had a driveshaft loop and I lied :D ...
i have a friend with a 67 stang, right after he installed his hurst shifter he couldnt get the neutral safety switch to hook up. the techs at bandimere asked if he had one, and he lied. the funny part was he hit the starter in the staging lane with it in gear. they still didnt say anything. he had the switch hooked up within a week. if it were my track he would have been soooooooo gone. :yesnod:
