Default Cleaning ‘82 throttle bodies

Good morning,
I’ve got both TBIs broke down to do a rebuild and I’m curious what others have done to clean them up? Is ultrasonic a good option?

thanks in advance
Chris

First off, you do know that they are both different from each other and you do not want to mix up the parts or you will have issues when they are put back together. Keep the parts separate, front and rear like the springs for sure, injectors and the diaphragms. Next... Ultrasonic is the best way and IMO, blasting with glass bead is the next best. I stay away from the gallon carb cleaners if possible. Good luck on your rebuild and ensure you balance them once done. Also, while you are there, remove the block-off plate in the rear TB for the fuel pressure regulator so that it can be adjusted externally.

PM me if you want more info on that or if you need help.

Ahhh... I didn't know if you had stock or external FPR. I see that you are externally regulated. So, forget about the part "Also, while you are there, remove the block-off plate in the rear TB for the fuel pressure regulator so that it can be adjusted externally." in my previous post, it won't be needed, but you still can do it if you like.
