One lesson we can all learn from this is better security of our beloved vettes. Did you have any security on your car? I'm assuming they popped the ignition lock. I have seen a metal plate that locks around the steering column that makes it impossible to pop the ignition. I've been thinking of buying this, and your story makes me even more likely to buy it. I've had a car stolen, and it's not a pleasant feeling knowing some jerkwad has your car. Glad the end result is you having your car back :)
I am so happy you got your vehicle back because when I read your post about it being stolen I really got :mad :mad :mad :mad. If and when they catch the thieves I hope they cut off the thumbs, index, and pinky fingers off on each hand (the vermin wont be able to pick up anything to steal) and brand the word THIEF on their forehead.
Absolutely Fabulous news! :D I saw your post over on http://www.c3vr.com and went hunting for this thread on CF - I figured I musta missed it here. That's great! MERRY CHRISTMAS! :D
My '79 4spd was stolen ~3 weeks ago, recovered and has been in the shop since. Can't wait to get it back! It appears to have been a joy rider. Broken steering column & a few other scrapes & bruises.
I hate it when this happens!

Whew....What a relief, I had seen the first post on when it got stolen...I would have been upset, but I'm glad to see the follow up post is very positive...Glad to see there isn't too much damage...heck, I'm glad you got it back...I think I'm gonna get a retenal scan starter with a finger print scanner on the steering wheel..
That is really good to hear. I am very happy that it was recovered in fairly good condition. It's amazing a towing company called you and the cops didn't have a clue.
