The mags have a polarized response, people love them or hate them. The fronts look okay, but the backs stick out too far[/QUOTE]

I love that old school look. What are the tire sizes on it,especially the rears? May be too wide for you, perfect for me! TIA Andy

What is your goal for this car?
Only reason I am saying is that if you are not going to a concourse restoration......the stock manifolds are woefully inadequate for even the Lo-Po 300hp setup. Headers on LT-1's are worth an easy 30 horsepower at the tire and it will rev much easier.......it would be difficult for me to own an LT-1 Vette or Z/28 without a pair of headers on it......in fact you could get an early Z/28 with headers in the trunk new....the 302DZ and the LT-1 were basically the same save for stroke.....
Just throwing it out there.....

If it wasn't for the shitty Miracle Auto Painting, or the like, paint job, this LT-1 would be a survivor. In fact, you can still see all the factory panel seams, so they did little to no prep work before painting. Makes me think the original paint is lurking under this terrible paint. My interest is to get the very few elements that are missing that make it more originally whole. It does not mean I will be installing them. It has headers, and I plan to keep them. The next owner has the option to continue the headers or install the correct original manifolds. I'm in no hurry to get these parts, but I want to know what is correct, when it comes along. Its odd that GM put such poor flowing manifolds on the high-revving LT-1.

Ah, gotcha…..
It is very odd that GM deleted the 2.5” Rams Horn in 1965…..and odd they kept 2” outlets on the LT-1 but then the Camaro was even worse….
Maybe they thought new owners would install headers off the bat….
Nice find BTW…..

There is plenty of empirical data out there that show the long headers are definitely effective compared to stock manifolds. Plenty of dyno runs on YouTube. That's why I will keep the headers

Most of the time these changes like exhaust manifolds were to reduce cost too a single design. Like in 1972 the same manifold was used LT and RT eliminating the bracket holes in the manifold so a single casting.

The build sheet on the tank is mostly missing, all the options info is lost
Unfortunately, the engine is not the original. It appears to be a warranty replacement

The wheels. Look great when they are properly polished and a. Can of mother's and a rag won't cut it. Have them professionally done and they will look great.
