ac schrader valve

ac schrader valve

Does anybody know if the schrader valve in the ac low side can be replaced or would I need to buy a new line. I know that some valves can be taken out, not sure about this one though in this car. I tried to take it out but it will not screw out all the way.

The only ones that I have removed on my '72 are the ones on the main a/c hose, back of the compressor. Get a kit, it will have to tool you need. Where are the valves you are removing?

Over several decades when replacing Schrader valves, after unscrewing them I've had to pull them out with needle nose pliers.

In the back of the compressor. The low end valve. Can't get it out even with needle nose. May have to buy a whole new hose.

before you do.. are you sure it is not screwing out all the way?? if truly stripped agree... but maybe not tuning on the 'catches'?

or crappy tool not fitting?

Try putting a drop of compressor oil on the valve and work it up and down a bit!

When my son was well he had, and has a tool to replace valves without loosing pressure when changing valves. Don't ask me how it works , but I saw it over and over. Was amazing to watch.
