Default NCRS missing Dealer name

I've been searching through the forums trying to assist members who have received their NCRS data report where the dealer name is missing. I've answered a bunch that I've found but it's easier if I just post a message to assist. I've have a pretty extensive data base and will provide the information if I have it. Not looking for anything in return, just love the hobby.

Hi Paul,
Are you saying you have dealer names beyond those in the NCRS dealer data base?
If so that would be pretty terrific since knowing the dealer the car was delivered at is such a nice part of a car's history!
I'm glad you're willing to do this!
Regards,
Alan

Default Clarification

I do not have a database of any VIN numbers to match up to dealers, I have a database of zones and codes with dealer names and have been able to identify many dealer names that NCRS did not have in their database.

Hi Paul,
Well great!
That gives people a bit more hope of finding the dealer that delivered their car!

Give this one a try. I was pretty disappointed in 2010 to receive this reply. It might be AZ, NV, or CA. Hardly useful.

OK, any help on this one?

I've been told Zone 21 dealer 1 was an order that was placed through the Foreign Distributors Division either via a military exchange store or for a car that was ordered for export that did not need any special international features. Sometimes these vehicles were shipped to a dealership near the location the purchaser specified and never left the country. This was frequently done by those in the military to get a better price on the vehicle.

So any way I can track down any more info?

Mark:
Here's what I have in my database for 01 021:
Backmuss-Ebert Chevrolet-Olds Inc
803-807 Grand River
Fowlerville, MI 48836

I don't have anything for dates or comments. I looked for ads and didn't see anything nor on google. What I usually do is call the local library and ask for the reference section. Hopefully they have old business directories or city directories and can look up the name for you:
Fowlerville library: 517-223-9089, says they are open today.

Good luck,
Paul

Paul, I know the name and address of the dealer that sold my car when new, can you cross reference to the Dealer code and zone by chance?

Dealer was Briskin Chevrolet in Woodbury, New Jersey. Sometime in the 60's the address may have changed to a Westville address. Location remained the same.

Thanks, GUSTO

There does not seem to be much interest, but thanks fsc66. Very much appreciated. The best I could search back to was emissions tests in the 1970s in Palm Springs, CA. You have added a new dimension in my history search.

Damn! That's pretty SAD! Especially considering the owners of Fairway Chevy had quite a large collection of Corvettes from C1 through C6's when we had our convention in Vegas in 2009 we were given a great tour of that collection....I think that location has been moved.

Well thank you for your efforts Paul (fsc66). I know NCRS charges a quite a fee for just a shipping record and now I realize it can be unproductive for what an owner expects. I think they want something like $150 unless you become a member which would then make the total fee over $300. But maybe Paul 74 can provide what he paid for his shipping document.

BTW I owned a 1966 SS back in the 70's and it was a girl getter. Originally a 396 BB car but was a 350 sb car while I owned it. Nice car but now I can't recall why I sold it. I think it was had problems I couldn't deal with at the time.

Well what kind of information do you need to look up shipping data for my '74 vette? Or what kind of information do you have for my car? I found my build sheet but its only half there now and most is eligible. I can PM you the VIN but thats mostly all I have.
