I don’t think they’re square. They just get that way from being used. I got 2 new seals (green orings) at oriellys auto for my 79. Napa probably has them also.
I see now that a/c used a few different type seals than I have. 🤔

none of the seals pictured match. Yes manifold seal. I guess oring will have to work.
i am not aware of any o ring on manifold. Just he sealing washer ' o ring', also called a flat o ring.
maybe someone did not use correct originally? if you have an r4 pretty sure you need those steel rubber 'o rings'
pic maybe to clarify?
edit: i see you may have original compressor.. yes they are black O rings not flat.
10 bucks they are in this kit.. or i think it says #12 o ring, just make sure right type for r12 134
Perhaps you are looking for the silver metal sealing washer used on some applications (varies depending on the replacement compressor used)? It goes in the manifold before the green seal is inserted. The green seal and yellow seal are shown in Post #2 of this thread (not o-rings). My replacement compressor sealing kit didn't come with one for some reason so I had order it separately.
To clarify what you are asking......what compressor part number are you using (assuming you are replacing it) and are you re-using the original GM hose/manifold?
