stalling after running hard
76 with L48. Everything is stock. This is a relatively new to me car, so I expect this is the first carb rebuild in a while.
It starts great. It runs great. It is absolutely screaming like never before... except it has stalled twice in the last couple hrs of running. Both times it has stalled have been similar conditions... running it up to about 70mph at wide open throttle then slowing down to turn into the neighborhood. No misfire or anything... it just dies like I've turned it off. I can restart it after a bit of cranking and pumping the pedal and the pushing down the accelerator when it tries to start (I'm open to other advice here). The way it restarts (chug, chug, vroom) makes me think it might be flooding.
This isn't a consistent problem. Any good guesses?
Thanks!
or it stalls after high throttle open when the
throttle is closed abruptly?
turning sloshes the fuel in the bowl and maybe causing a flooding condition.= float to high?
stalling after high throttle and hard throttle closing = tune not right float
if you are correct about flooding out.
or a wire is grounding when moving from turning
or

sorry car aint right
You could also try lowering your float level if it's too high.
