Default power steering control valve set screw

on my 72, Was trying to reduce my PS control valve fluid leakage so tightened tubing and clamps, etc, and saw a little leakage from a set screw on the side of the valve on the far right end of the control valve body. so put an allen wrench on it and sure enough, it was loose. So I started to tighten it, and it seemed wierd that it didnt seem to tighten, so i continued to screw it in. And then it happened - it went completely into the valve body. So now its sitting in there. I guess this is a zerk fitting hole for grease, and to save 10 cents the valve rebuilder, before my owning the car, just put a set screw there. Question: can this set screw cause a problem in there where it is and do I need to get into the valve to get it out?

Not an expert here but it is my understanding that if you put too much grease into that hole it can ruin the valve hence the removal of the zerk fitting to avoid over grease temptation. I cannot imagine no harm resulting from leaving the allen screw inside. Valve has to come apart- maybe time for rebuilding or replacement.

about 20 years ago i had cv leaks in my 72. even with new seals, it would get sediment around the seal, and leak. so all i had to do was take it apart 2 or 3x and the leaks stopped when the sediment was all gone, and stayed leak free. i did not bother to remove it to clean it.
