Engine Code
The engine in my 68 convertible is stamped CEA122679 on the front pad ! What is it ? Block number is 3970010 !

C= Chevy
E= Engine
A= Most likely 1st shift
1= Most likely 1971
22679= 22679 service engine made

There is no way to get any more information from the stamping. Your engine is just a sum of the parts at this point.
