Valve Cover Studs
The valve covers themselves were stamped steel. So I figured maybe I try a set of Proform Parts 141-927 - Proform GM Licensed Slant Edge Valve Covers. They are cast aluminum, not stamped steel. I changed to Mr. Gasket 5861 - Mr. Gasket Ultra-Seal Valve Cover Gaskets instead of rubber.
Here is the issue. The Proform Cast aluminum covers are MUCH thicker than the previous stamped steel valve covers. The Mr. Gasket 5861 is MUCH thicker than the rubber ones I used.
The problem now is the Thread Length is 1.5 inch valve cover studs are not tall enough. I Googled 2 inch valve cover studs, but nothing. I did find Moroso 68820 - Valve Cover Stud Kits at 1.750 inches. Studs are the way I prefer to go. But I may have to consider T-Bar Valve Cover Hold Downs. But even then, they usually have 1.5 inch threads.
Any help appreciated.

I'm using these Speedway cast aluminum covers with the Moroso 68820 stud kit but, I'm using Fel-Pro VS12869T PermaDryPlus Valve Cover Gaskets which are a lot thinner than the Mr. Gasket 5861. I'm sure the lip of the Speedway covers are just as thick as your Proform covers. No fitment issues at all. And, more importantly, no leaks.

Why fumble around trying to line up a bolt through two holes and into the head?
To install studs just double nut them with a drop of LocTite Blue, just snug 'em.
Try Summit Racings search box.

Then you will have to decide on some cool hold-down fasteners.
I have the old school chrome, T-handle style with a Chevy Bow-Tie. Some claim they are ugly. I don't care. Its not their car.

Those are nice!
I use all kinds of Allen head studs from ARP. Sad thing is ARP stuff is like non existent. I have had SBC 12 point head stud kit paid for and order since April. I had to buy a 6 point set and use the studs to complete the job with older used 12 point nuts from the shop junk bins
