Default New Aluminum Radiator Support Brackets

Hello! I have a question! I just recently bought a new 3 row aluminum radiator and replacing the smaller aluminum radiator in the car. My question is since I’m going with a bigger radiator are there any brackets I should get to keep it from coming out?

What year car do you have? If you have the factory aluminum radiator that has two pins on the bottom to locate the radiator in the core support you may have a hard time installing the new three core. You might try and find a radiator shop in your area to see if they can transfer the pins to your new radiator.

no it’s not the stock one. The previous owner rebuild the motor and put in an aftermarket one. My vette is a 1980

DeWitts had rubber mounts that fit their radiator to the mounts in my '79. They sold them separately. You might look at theirs if the rad company you bought from doesn't have any.

Summit sells various radiator supports so I bought some when I installed the biggest replacement generator I could squish between the frame-rails on my 68. I ended up modifying the hell out of them so you might as well just get some scrap steel.
As long as you've got a custom support I found that the rubber for home drain connectors is really soft and pliable. Something to consider if you have to make your own cushions for support.

Here are several options...but as I said; I should have used used scrap steel as much as I had to modify and re-bend them.
