I put a FiTech system on my 76 late this season and it is working great. Usually in the winter, I just disconnect my battery, then top it off in the summer with my old Sears battery charger, reconnect and go.
Well now, I have a ECU with all my learned and stored fuel mappings in it.
What do you think would be better to do? Dump the tune to a laptop and disconnect the battery for the season, or get a good trickle charger and just leave it powered up?
Pros / cons to each?
I've had my FiTech disconnected for several months while working on things, and not lost my tune. Only needed to re set the dashboard view when re-energized.
(My FiTech is 4yrs old, ,, , im thinking it saves settings as the OEM computers do)
