Default new side pipes

What's up fellas!!!!!!!!!! been awhile. I got some headers I put in (patriot shorties) and new side pipes (patriot as well). I love the sound. I wrapped them with heat wrap. I installed them myself after moving a/c, the bracket, the alternator etc. I also installed heat covers for the spark plugs. It's right up against the dang thing. I installed ngk iridium plugs (incredible quality) but am thinking of going with shorty's instead (also ngk) as the spark plug cable with boot cover is right up against the headers. pics with headers on the engine without the wrap were just to see if they would fit. What say you all?????

great to be back by the way.

I've got the too pricey Hookers (bought used cheap, painted black, gold C3) but also like the looks of the patriot setup. Looks great, good job!

I wasn't sure I kind

liked side pipes so I bought Patriot Short Pipes 7 years ago....they STILL look new.
I DID fabricate heavy duty frame brackets to replace the cheap-other brackets that came with the kit. I also heated/flattened the area of the included exhaust pipe to fit the side pipes closers to the underside of the frame for more ground clearance-better appearance.

lol both those plugs are foreign made now I believe..Maybe not Accel yet as holley bought them out but Autolite for sure since honeywell bought them. I found that out the hard way. last time I bought a set of four autolites for my old vw kit car they were made in 3 different countries and none usa

mark the pipes where the plug are and massage them a bit to give them enough room not to touch. If there is an air gap the sleeves should work. If the silicone boots is touching it will melt. You may want to add another wrap of header wrap on the pipe that goes by your feet on the fire wall if you dont have any type heat shielding. I now in general your feet will stay alot cooler than under car pipes but every little bit helps.

Ceramic boots help. Jegs has a cut-to-fit set with nice terminals for about $90.

Yep, that's the whole reason we do it,, they do sound good,, cant get that tone from any other exhaust under the car. They look nice as well. Good job.
I agree, take headers off and tap them in a bit to get proper clearance for spark plugs, , it won't hurt anything,,, ,,,, we all know, those headers and pipes are not performance up grades...
LOOKS GREAT
