? that block's casting date ending in either 1 or 7 ... exactly where is its location ? (either way, get in there & clean it up so that it can be reliably discriminated-resolved).
I would expect an encoded, raised casting date along top of block's bellhousing flange
does the car run & drive good ? If so, keep it and enjoy it. Otherwise, sell it as is-where is and for what it IS.

no offense intended to OP or to Oklahomans, but (JME) it's probably a sooner guide plates; as in pushrod guide plates ... but not "valve guides."
Like other OE iron sbc heads, both x186 heads' & x492 OE valve guide is cast integral with head; valve guides fully-encircle valve stem (thus guide them) and are all but hidden beneath/within valve springs.
Yes, not valve guides, but push rod guides. We all knew what was meant
