I agree with someone's earlier post that it appears you have an incorrect wiper arm, at least on the driver's side. Looking at your photos the bend in that arm seems more pronounced causing the blade holder to point downward too far actually missing the stop (metal blade park). To compare I've included a few photos to point out what seems to be the problem....at least as things appear in your pics. The first photo with the arrow points to the bend in your arm. The second photo with the arrow points to the bend in the original arm on my '73. The other photos show the wipers in the parked position on my '73. Are your blades 16 inches long?

Yes they are 16" long. Thanks and you have a good point. Probably the driver side is wrong. I can force the arm up over the stop but that definitely not the right thing to do. And it goes past the outside molding when it works. Thanks for you input and help.
