Can someone tell me what’s wrong with these wipers? They are installed on the keyed shaft but obviously not in the right place when parked. I can force the drivers side up where it needs to be but something is off.
Your car does not have the correct wipers. The 73 cars had wiper arms with the washer tubes running up each arm. That being, said the Drivers side arm looks like one for the passenger side. Look at some of the vendor catalogs and you will see what the arms look like.
My 73 did not have the correct wiper arms installed when I purchased her, the replacement arms are pricey, and Bubba must have used all his money for beer.

if I flip the driver side arm over to the passenger side it will be upside down and will not slide into the keyed shaft that it fits in. They do have the little clip where the tube used to fit on the arms. But I agree they may be wrong year. They do appear to be the right angle arms though but they can’t be the correct ones. Thanks for your input.
There is some adjustment for each arm in the joint where it connects to the motor
And when they sit it's weird as the tip of the drivers sits against the stop and the passenger sits on top of the drivers rather than the way it LOOKS like it should
Here's Willcox's instructions for the earlier but they are the same for the 73 IIRC, if you have the right wiper arms they would have the screw A for also adjusting the angle of the arm but if you have the later replacements they are fixed but still work
take a screw driver pry it loose (drivers side) the rod coming from drive motor is groved the wiper arm is also groved slide it onto the wiper motor in a diffrent groove till you get it right

the shaft that the arm slides on is keyed. so it only slides on one way. thanks

Thanks. Looks like you have one arm straight and your driver side has two angles. Both my arms have 2 angles so I think these may be wrong
That's actually a later one (not mine) but I believe the overall shape was the same, one has a bend out 6" or so from the end and the other has a lesser bend down near where the arm changes from the tin piece to the bar piece
68 are different (see below, I thought just the washer tubes but I've not seen a set so I don't know)
69-74Early are the same and have an adjuster screw on the side of the tin part
74Late - 82 are the same with no screw, slightly different shape but still will work (I have a set of them on my 72 right now)

Reason: 68 are as usual, unicorns
The AIM is the Assembly Manual used to build these C3's. They are for sale at most Corvette vendors. I would strongly suggest you get one for reference if nothing else. They show how everything fits together and it is really handy to have.

68s have their own wiper arm. I had this same issue and I had to shell out some major clams to get the appropriate wiper arm. It may just be a wiper arm off a Camaro or something

I agree....talk about building something then having to redesign parts on the fly or completely the next model year. Im curious if theres ever been another mass production car with those type of changes. If I had it to do all over again I would have saved for a 67 or a 69 just for ease of fixing stuff...but I still love my 68
Here's a set of 6(something) to 74Early wiper arms to show the shape they should be
The passenger one has the kink about 4" from the blade pin, the other has it about 8" from the blade pin.
Big difference was the screw adjuster on the side for fine-tuning the shape so the wiper door on the 68-72 worked without the wipers hitting the trim as well
(normally can't see the adjuster inside as it would be covered with a plate)
My 72 still has a set of later (74+ arms) on it and they work even without the adjustment that that screw gave so they should work on yours as well)
Hi 7T3,
I agree with someone's earlier post that it appears you have an incorrect wiper arm, at least on the driver's side. Looking at your photos the bend in that arm seems more pronounced causing the blade holder to point downward too far actually missing the stop (metal blade park). To compare I've included a few photos to point out what seems to be the problem....at least as things appear in your pics. The first photo with the arrow points to the bend in your arm. The second photo with the arrow points to the bend in the original arm on my '73. The other photos show the wipers in the parked position on my '73. Are your blades 16 inches long?
Hope this helps! Good luck solving your issue!

I agree that the arm looks to have too much bend. If you're headed in the direction to buy a correct replacement then there's no harm in trying to reduce the bend angle on the one you have and see if that'll work. Not sure how easily and control-ably that will bend, but if you were to try, remove it from the car and use a bench vise so you don't stress the linkage.
