Changing plugs on the 327 I noticed the upper plug shielding is missing. I have been driving it for about 2 years and the plug wire end seems fine. Are those shields really needed?
It would be best to just change all of the engine dress stuff at the same time following engine overhaul. But, whenever you decide to do it, install the best quality plug wires and NGK irridium plugs so that they will NEVER need changing in YOUR lifetime.
Thanks for the memories. Finished mine about 2-1/2 years ago and EVERY nomination brought back (painful) memories. My vote would go to anything under the driver's side dash, followed by the AC unit and a close third would be the center console.
Merry Christmas guys!
OOPs Put this in the " Related Thread" instead of the original
I've always worked on my own vehicles, from my first car to now UNLESS it's an alignment, that I cannot do.
Anyway, the C3 is crazy technology when you compare it to anything else of it's era. My gripe when I did it was the over complicated front suspension, like my god guys.. The thirdgen Firebirds/Camaros not only handled better, but the macpherson strut is not only better, but also easier.. It took me a week of messing around to finally get it all together..
Second is the center console, mother of god. I had some issues with the window switches, and the Ebrake.. It was forever to get all that apart. Then I had to do it again to replace the printed board for the center gauges. You have to practically remove the center console to get the damn gauges out.
