72 LT1 thumping sound
1972 dies on acceleration with thumping sound from engine. It idles & revs normal. Upon acceleration it loses power with loud thumping sound from engine & dies. Fuel pump & fuel filters & air filter & plugs ok.
Any ideas?

Because it idles and revs normally, it sounds like a transmission/clutch issue since it only happens under motion. Is it a manual or automatic; stock or aftermarket? Has there been any change recently from before the sound began?
