So I got these special AC lines and trying to install them. Is there some trick to get them on ? I can get them on to the barbs a little ways but not far enough to get the special hose clamps on !!!!
A little lubrication on the barb and heat the hose to 150°F in an oven. Preheat oven first. Should slide right on. If the fit is still too tight, place the barbed end in the freezer. GL!
The heat gun & lube worked !!!!!! Now I have a new question........I've found 2 ac hose routing diagrams that show the hose from the evap & refrigerant control valve routed down then up over the other hoses to the muffler for 327 engine and just straight from the evap & refrigerant to the muffler for a 427 engine. The AIM manual does not show both ways, just straight from one to the other. I have a 327....is there some reason I can't do the short route ? Either way it's going to be a task because thats the largest diameter hose !!!!

Can't be sure, but the muffler was most likely deleted on the BB due to space requirements. In other words, the space was just too tight to fit it in.. The muffler is there to reduce the pulsations of the compressor. I would use it though just cause the factory wanted it that way.
