Keeps running

68 when car is running then I turn it off and take the key out it keeps running. When I hit the dash it shuts off. Any ideas why!!?

First thought is a short in the ignition switch.

Run on would not shut off by hitting the dash board

. You have an issue with the ignition switch / wires ..

And run on, dieseling is obvious. Bad diode in the Alternator or switch not shutting off. Both easy to check.
Step one. temporarily unhook all wires from Alternator. Start car, turn it off. Problem is gone. Bad diode. Problem persists, switch not shutting off.

I think this switch is your problem. Its down the column toward the pedals. Anyone done one of these on a corvette? I haven't but they are usually activated by a rod.
