I've decided to rebuild my other rearend I have ( a '77) and install some 3:70 gears. I've been looking around for a solid clutch pack and all I can find is the snowflake, or the carbon fibre variety.....not really interested in those.
-In my search the ford 8.8 comes up a lot, is this rearend using the same clutch pack as our Corvettes?
-Also where is a good place to find a solid clutch pack?
When you replace the clutch pack, it is REALLY important to do the rotation step as specified in Tom's rebuild videos. This knocks off the high points in the clutch plate patterns. If you don't do that, then you won't get a good measurement for setting up the side gear shims. End result will be stub axle slop. If you just street drive, probably doesn't matter. On track, this will mess with your camber and cause rear wheel steer as you enter corners.

From the school of hard knocks.
You're describing posi tuning, part of which is running in the posi in either by hand or machine. Machine is better as shown on Tom's old video on YT. There is more to it then turning the posi and leaving out the spring pack though. I just taught my friend yesterday with a posi he is building for his 63 swc.
