What is this?
Found this laying under my 77 today. I don't remember taking it off of the car and have no clue as to what it is or where it goes. HELP.

Is it a dead squirrel? I found a dead squirrel under my 'vette a couple of weeks ago, so it's possible.

What is it
Am proud to see the "Smart *** " part of the forum is alive and intact. A thousand pardons for my ignorance of modern technology. Truth is, I posted the question, then realized I didn't know how to put a picture with it. Still don't. But I did get real answer from a less critical member.
thanks all.

I was new to a forum a few days ago, and mistakenly posted a blank response. They replies that followed were
downright vicious! And I consider myself fairly thick skinned.
This forum is pretty cool in comparison.

He is a new member. Wait until he spends some time in OT. That gets brutal over there. You need some thick skin.

Yeah, I steer clear of OT. I’d rather take abuse on Corvette topics than my retrograde opinions on religion and politics!

I concur. When I showed my brother, he said, "Oh! That's a good squirrel. Good and dead!"
So, I guess we don't get to see what the mystery part is. Just make sure it's not the Flux Capacitor, or you won't be able to travel through time when you hit 88 MPH.

Thanks for the update!
That is your steering column bracket. If you don't find the missing carriage bolt, you can get one at Home Depot.
