Default Key can’t be removed

Hi everyone. I was wondering if you may help me with an issue I’m having. I have a 1975 Corvette. One day placed the key in the ignition switch and now can’t removed it from there. The car is set on parked and still key can’t be removed. I thought I may be the ignition switch cylinder so I started to disassembled my steering wheel column. Went ahead removed the old ignition cylinder and put in the new and still having the same issue. Spray little wd-40 in there to see if it will work and nothing. The old ignition switch cylinder looks like it works cause I was able to remove the key out after the removed it from the steering wheel housing. Not sure that it maybe a TILT STEERING COLUMN IGNITION LOCK ACTUATOR RACK that went bad at this point. Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

You have something called a steering interlock cable. One end is on transmission linkage other end is on lever in engine compartment where the steering column is located. Remove the cotter pin holding the cable to the lever in the engine compartment and push the lever up. See if you can now remove the key. If you can the cable is need of lubrication or is kinked.
