As much as I hate the reproduction parts being sold, all the blame cannot be placed on the country of origin. There are many very high tech parts being made overseas that are in our phones, computers, and so on.
The large vendors must have the ability to upgrade the specs on these parts being made. As with other industries, this outsourcing is only in the pursuit of more profit. The only way to stop this is to stop buying product. These reproduction parts can be made better, even overseas.
The biggest question is how much more are we willing to pay for a better part?

good question...how much would I pay. Well I've put in 1 wiper door actuator relay every year for the last 6 years at 45 dollars a pop. So I would pay $150 which is about 3 times the price we pay now for one that would last as long as the original headlight relay I replaced last summer that was 53 years old. I bought 2 new ones to replace the headlight and have a back up for the wipers. One was bad out of the box so I ended up using the other and having to order athird becasue less than a month later the wiper one failed.....
same with the headlight switches and wiper switches. Ive gone through 4 headlight switches since I bought it and 3 wiper switches. the 2nd was a used original that lasted 5 years and now I have a real NOS one that is goiing on 1 year of use
