Default Parking Brake Cable Issue

Hey guys. I just finished putting new wheel bearing on the passenger side and now I'm putting everything back together. I just can't seem to figure out how to get the parking brake cable back on. It seems too short. I have the ball end on the lever and the cable is routed thru the nylon clip, but the cable won't stretch far enough to pass thru the bracket on the trailing arm. See pictures below. I didn't make any changes to the cable. I simply just took it off while I did the wheel bearings. I tried moving the brake lever inside the car back and forth but that didn't help. I must be doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Andy

Are you sure you didn't do anything while the cable was off? It looks from the picture like the bracket has been re-welded.
Try loosening the cable tensioner threads in the driveshaft tunnel and then re-tighten it after you get it in the bracket.

No, nothing was done while the cable was off; the trailing arm remained on the car. Good suggestion to loosen the cable under the car. It's just weird that I have to do it this way.
Thanks!

Yep, that did the trick. Just went out to the garage and loosened that nut under the car and pulled the cable thru the bracket with no problem. Thanks for your help. I love simple solutions especially after doing wheel bearings!
