Default 82 aftermarket intake

Hi all. I'm having a hard time finding a renegade intake for my 82. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Our member here Buccaneer produced them but they have been out of production for a few years......he tried to get someone to tool them up for him with little success.
Unless you find a used one.....there are no other options.

pm buccaneer. he is the xfire guy. that was probably him in that second web link saying he-they pulled the tooling from that eddie whatever. another option is another fuel injection setup. crossfire was nice in 82. they have had 40 years...

If you put an "@" in front of a user's name, like Buccaneer for example, it creates a link that you can click on to send a PM. It may even alert that user that they are being mentioned in a thread.

Let's see if @Buccaneer notices.

I am currently upgrading my 82 and will have a bunch of stuff for sale. I do have a renegade intake, tb,s ect ect.
If you can wait a couple of months I will clean and send pics.
Shipping might be costly, coming from Guam but I will ship the cheapest fastest way.
Thanks

Definitely be patient and find a Renegade.

I looked at the 'x-ram' manifold and it's a bald *** dog!

I saw, I replied and FCEP may be able to help you? FCEP, does your manifold have a serial number on it by the EGR flange by chance?

OK, thanks. That means it is an EMS made manifold from California casting and not done by us, back then...Dynamic Crossfire Solutions (DCS). They all say "made in USA and DCS on them. If there was a serial number, it would have been a casting poured here in Arizona and for sure it would be a good one that was machined here as well. I personally hand stamped each manifold manufactured here with a serial number and kept a record of all manifolds made, who they went to and when. If anyone finds a manifold with a serial number for sale, snag it, it's a good one. Jus sayin'.

Ok so what I'm getting is that not all Renegade cast manifolds are true Renegades? I need to look for a cast number close to the EGR valve to see if its a good one?

No, they are ALL Renegades developed by myself and another guy back in the DCS days. They were produced by two different company's over time. At first they were poured and machined here in the local Phoenix, AZ area. Then we leased the tooling to a company in CA to pour and machine the intakes. They did a horrible job of machining after a bit and we finally pulled our tooling from them. I have since then refurbished the tooling like new from the original pattern maker here in Phoenix. The tooling is ready to go, all I need is a foundry that will pour the manifolds at a reasonable price per unit which is the issue. If that was to happen the Renegade would be available once again.

If a Renegade has a serial number stamped in it, it is for sure a good unit. If not stamped, that means EMS did the unit and I can not say that it is 100% good, but it may be if early enough. The units from EMS were never stamped with a serial number that I am aware of. I hope this helps in your understanding.

BTW...Porting an original stock manifold is a good idea and will flow a lot more than a stock one for sure. It just won't flow as much as the Renegade, that's all.

@Buccaneer I have found one but I do not know yet if it has a serial number. What would a reasonable price be for an original and or an EMS version?

New to the site. Just got an ‘82 with 82,000 miles on it. It hasn’t been run since 1998. Gas and oil were drained when it was parked. Going to be getting it up and running with my 15yr old son who will end up getting it after he’s been driving alone for a year.

Again, IF there is a serial number stamped by the EGR flange/opening it IS a good one. IF NO serial number, I can not say if it is good or not and was done by EMS. The serial number will be very easy to see. (see attached) Arrow denotes where the serial number will be stamped. This is a good manifold that is on my engine and is a pre-production unit with NO serial number.

@Buccaneer What would you say is a reasonable price for one with a serial number?

Thank you for your knowledge in these forums. I will be reading and asking lots of questions in the very near future.

This is what he just sent me and unfortunately looks like it does not have the serial number.
