My 68 with original windshield. It had many wiper scratches. I got a windshield scratch remover from EBAY, https://www.ebay.com/itm/393599575647. I used a random orbital sander with velcro pad. It took a while but it removed the scratches on my windshield. It looks great now from the inside looking out.
It really works good. I was very pleased driving it today. A scratch you can feel with your fingernail is very hard to get out, but wiper marks and stains are removed. Very happy with the results. Looking out the windshield today was almost like new. It is messy and takes time. Tape off everything and be patient. Watch youtube videos.
I bought some Glass polishing compound from one of the Corvette suppliers years ago as I had a C4 with deep scratches from running wipers with no rubber on the blade.
Got a good deal on the car as it was.
It did take time and effort. But the results were top notch.
Stuff really works.
There are two different methods. One, where you use different grits and work your way down to very fine. The kit I got just has the final grit and probably wouldn't take out really bad scratches, but does polish out wiper blade marks.
I assume it works just as well on side and rear glass.
The oem glass on my 73 needs a facelift and I hope this would do the trick so I don’t need to replace it.
