Borgeson install interference/alignment issue
In the process of completing a borgeson install on a ‘80 with power steering. Have an interference/alignment issue that I suspect has a really obvious answer, but I can’t nut out and walking away twice hasn’t solved
Here’s what I know:
- original 80 with power steering and correct pitman arm
- Steering box is centred with steering wheel straight, and pitman arm pointing straight ahead
- Wheels/hubs aligned fairly straight with box and steering wheel on centre
- Replacement slave for control valve wound all the way in
My issue:
- Interference on both sides between a-arms and knuckle/tie rod attachment point at either lock - leaving me with only 2 and a half turns lock to lock
- If I realign tie rods to give sufficient clearance, steering wheel and box are obviously out of alignment
Can can anyone suggest the next check I should be doing?
Cheers
David
