Just doing the finishing touches to the reinstatement of my aircon. Does anyone know where I should attach the sensor tube for the thermal switch? It seems sensible to me to put it where the end of the orifice tube is (which would be just around where the steady bracket is). However the previous owner had it lower down (where the red arrow is) although I doubt this was the original setup as the tube was only attached with a jubilee clip and there was no insulation . On the subject of insulation, is it a good idea to use some thick, reflective pipe insulation, as the exhaust is very close and heats up the evaporator inlet pipe and the evaporator housing quite considerably.
Thanks Interpon, looks like you have got the sensor attached low down. Unfortunately there is no Lowes in the UK. I'm thinking of using something like you have got on your heater hose. Have you also put some insulation on your evaporator box? It looks a bit different to mine.
