Default Converting to roller cam

Hey guys, so I’m going to convert to a roller cam, so I was wondering what the equivalent to comp’s 305h 253/253 and 110 flat tappet would be in a roller. Would like to stick with comp.

I’m looking at Comp 12-470-8 252/252 duration over the latter 253/253

Really! How many cubic inches do you have? That is something like what Skip White puts in a 434 ci Small block to get 650 HP. 383 ci run the best with about 236 intake duration @ .050 350 ci about 232 I. with big matching heads like the AFR 195 - 210 cc

What's your engine specs and intended use? We can go from there.

383 forged internals, and ported AFR 195s mostly to the drag strip and occasionally rumble the streets

what kind of transmission and stall? Any ideas about the compression? What intake?

Back when I had a 383 and 3500 stall consistent 11.70 with Goodyear slicks 4.11 rear end I went with a solid roller to NOT be rpm limited like a sub 6500 rpm H-roller. I was shift at 7200+ rpm rev limiter set to 7500. All this with AFR 210 heads and 11ish C/R team "G" single plane with wood spacer custom Comp cams equivalent to say a Extreme energy 242/248 if you used the .200 lift numbers

Whats the real difference between the solid roller and hydraulic roller?

But the solid roller id probably go with is
Comp 12-705-8
it runs 255/255 at .050 with a .575 lift

You did not answer a few things. going to a massive cam might make it sound bad, but it's self defeating to have over cammed
