So I was out driving and everything seemed fine. Shifts were smooth and crisp and the car was running great. I jumped on the high way and got into 4th with no problem but as soon as I shifted to 5th its as if the stick broke. There was nothing. It was like the stick wasnt connected to anything. Then I tried to go to all other gears and it was the same thing. There was no noise, no loud bang nothing. The trans was rebuilt before I bought it but it had been sitting for a while.
So I figured out what is wrong and I wonder if Im missing a part. The ball on the bottom of the shifter popped out of the selector mechanism. Is there supposed to be like a plastic cup or something to hold it in?
Not sure about the TKO but I know on the T56 there is a single roll pin on there that holds the whole shifter rail and shifter cup altogether. That roll pin breaks and this happens on a T56.
Looks like you're missing the nylon cup. Give tech support a call at 865-609-8187 and they will get you on track.

I found a brass collar after doing some research over the weekend. It said it was an upgrade from the nylon collar. Can it be used and is that true or is the nylon the only way to go?
So I put a new brass collar at the end of the shift rod but is there something that holds the brass collar into the cup on the transmission? It just drops down and then the brass cup pops out. Am I supposed to glue it in or JBWeld?
First off, I apologize for not catching this sooner.
That is not the correct part. Your shifter is a proprietary Keisler Engineering piece which, by my guess, appears to be prior to about 2006 or so. This is referred to as the "roll pin" shifter which was problematic. I would recommend calling in and purchasing a new shift link which uses a captured nylon shifter cup. This will be a trouble free fix. Ask for Chris and tell him to see me when you get on the phone so I can explain what you need. 865-609-8187
