Planning before replacing carpet
I kind of want to take care of both heat and sound, but most of the threads I've seen picked one to prioritize.
Here's what I'm considering:
CLD, reflectix, jute, carpet.
CLD, CCF, MLV, carpet.
CLD, reflectix, MLV, carpet.
CLD, reflectix, CCF, MLV, carpet.
First option is the cheapest, though I don't mind spending a bit to do it right if it'll make a difference. CLD/CCF/MLV seems to be the standard for sound, not sure how well they do for heat. Not sure if reflectix alone would provide enough isolation between components like the CCF does, or if I added both if I'd start running into fitment issues.
Heat wise, the car runs fairly cool at speed, but warms up quite a bit if I get stuck in traffic. I haven't had it out on any hot days yet, just nice spring weather in the midwest.
I asked them what was best to use for heat and sound deadening.
They said there are many good options on the market but they recommend using only one layer of heat/sound deadening material under carpet and not to use thick material as it will make the carpet installation very difficult and not allow the carpet to lay correctly.
I put down DynaLiner for thermal (heat) insulation/barrier and DynaMat for sound/vibration dampening. I used the DynaLiner up front where there is heat and the DynaMat in a couple places in the back just in spots. The DynaLiner is good stuff - very firm with good adhesive.

CCF - closed cell foam. For an airgap and isolation between CLD and MLV
MLF - Mass Loaded Vinyl. For soundproofing.
