Went to the “How too” section but where it says pick your model I only se C5, 6,&7 no C3. Am I missing it?
This section of the forum has been extremely helpful but it’d rather look up the info if it’s available rather than ask a question that undoubtedly been answered dozens of times before me.
C3 guys don't need a how to section, we do stuff and help each other.
(C5, 6,&7 now they need a how to section, mainly consisting of how to write a cheque to have someone who knows what their doing (probably a c3 guy) fix their car )

I can do most anything I need done with a car truck or boat but with a Vette now in my garage I’m finding the guys who built the Vette we’re determined to do things in their own way. I have been helped greatly and found I had to rethink some of what I thought I knew.
I’ve done the search engine thing and that’s helped too. I guess between the two it’ll work. I just thought there might be another resource I wasn’t finding.
Tell you what though, it’s been a godsend to be working on a car that is void of any computers or modern tech again !
When I told my buddies that I was buying a Tri-power car they were divided in their feelings in say cool ! But also “multiple carbs will be a pain to adjust and get to run right”. Nothing could be farther from the truth and I found them to quite simple. They had leaking and other issues when I first got the car but it’s stoneage tech and was easy to make right. Yes, Corvette does have its own way of doing things but I love how basic they are.
one thing to keep in mind with these cars. you don't have to drive it to work on monday. don't buy stuff ahead of time. find out what it needs then find it. brakes notwithstanding. whatever you buy the car it will not appreciate. it will just break or make funny noises somewhere else.

really, thats a bullshit excuse. Most first answers is " you should do a search" or "what year car and motor do you have?". HOw about a pinned section that has the answers already. If you dont find your answer there then ask away. How many vacuum issue questions are there. How many no start questions are there? How many leaking power steering questions are there? How many bleeding brake questions are there. How many wiring, motor mount, header, suspension blah blah blah. Why are we so hung up on having to answer the same **** every couple of days when there should be tech section like Willcox has that lists the general information and then could have subfolders of all the related issues it could be or related threads. Then if that doesnt work the OP could say," hey , I read this, did these test, had these results and my problem is X". I just dont understand why we are such a bunch of high schoolers about this and dragging this **** out to have the same answers so we look like heros. How about some organization.
When I first found this forum, I read every thread and the answers.
I must say the forum has gotten a lot better.
90% of the threads and answers were incomplete. Meaning, the original guy who asked a question never returned to confirm the solution.
The area has grown a lot and very very rare to see a question not discussed before.
Welcome to the forum and "Stickies" can be submitted to mods for placing at the top so a "how to" can be built.

sorry I didnt see it that way. I didnt mean to make it look like I was mad at you.It was a pissing match for me a while back that I couldnt get something like this set up so it would be easier to help out the new guys and the guys that arent as mechanically inclined as some of us. THere are some really gtreat how to threads that are hard to find or are worded incorrectly. Trying to remember what I wrote or titled my how to on 68 door locks is hard to find. I was trying to find a thread on how folks wired the back of their gauge console so that they had one plug and made it look really neat and tidy. No luck finding that. ANd try and do an advanced search fo rsomething that has a number in like 68 or 15 or 17 and the number gets dropped as its too common. Thats just stupid
Searching can be a challenge, and I agree it would be nice to have a structured How To section, but it may be labor intensive to set up such a thing. This forum is still great in my opinion; remember 30 years ago when we didn't have the internet in it's current form? If you didn't have any sharp hot rodders locally you had to figure it out yourself. Now we can swap info with folks all around the world in seconds.
Too funny Mooser. Joined when we got our C3 and spend 99% of my time here. We’ve since got a C7….should say my wife got a C7. Don’t believe I’ve posted there. Really funny to see the differences between the 2 forums. Completely different…predominantly not do it yourselfers
When I need a how-to I’ve found it most efficient to Google-search “1978 Corvette…” followed by the problem part, system or procedure. Corvette Forum always appears with a list of previous related posts asking the same question. Almost never need to start a new thread. The biggest problem is in titles for threads that aren’t specific; like ‘need help’, ‘frustrated again’, ‘what do I do now?’, ‘Bubba’s been here!’. Couldn’t get the video to load.
