Default Electric Fan Shroud Modification

So, I had bought this shroud w/electric fans specifically because it fit the new C3 direct fit Cold Case aluminum radiator that I purchased. While the dimensions fit for the most part, I had to get a local Rad shop modify it so it could be screwed down to the rad's top and bottom brackets. However, the fan on the driver's side interfered with the CAs so I took it back to the Rad shop to get them to modify it to accommodate the fitment interference. I'm at the point where I'm installing the tubular (Ebay Cheapo's) CAs, so I needed the radiator/shroud/fans to check for clearance. I called the Rad shop and they had not gotten to my request yet, so I just went and picked it up from them. Just like with the factory CAs the driver's side tubular CA interferes with the driver's side fan and which looks like it needs to be moved over about 2".

I measured where the fan's new mounting tabs should go and drilled some holes and mounted the fan. I then took some string and tied it to the fans center point and the other end to a pencil to draw the arc I needed to cut out which I did with my trusty jigsaw. I used the piece I removed to fill in the section at the opposite side and used some Loctite epoxy to attach it with. While it's not pretty it seems to be functional, and the mounting holes are outside of the cut area. I'll most likely replace it at some point in the future with something mo betta. I'm not the best fabricator but I must say for functionality I think it turned out okay for the most part. Pics attached.

Looks pretty good. On mine moving more towards the passenger side was simply not an option. I notched out the cage part of the fan right at the upper control arm bolt. Made certain that the fan blade cleared. it did. And done.

your fans look to be right next to each other. i like the c5 setup better. they are staggered.
right side high and left low. left CA goes above the left fan cage with shroud offset about an inch to the left. and whichever control arm you get the control arm pivot points are gonna be in the same place.

I bought a half sheet of aluminum, and took these fans out of some aircraft carrier size Chrysler product. I too did the string thing and cut the holes with a jig saw. I made my control box from directions on a off-road forum, it's heavily over engineered.

I did a conversion to a Champion aluminum radiator and added a set of eBay fans with aluminum shroud. Could not get it to stay cool, it would creep its way up to overheating. I swapped it with a single 16” Spal puller with no shroud, stays nice and cool now!
