Default 71 blower motor not working

Hey Guys,

I'm going down the last straight in restoring my 71 corvette.
Everything electrical works, except the blower motor.
I found the wiring diagram on this site.

I can't figure out why it's not working.

Starting from the fuse, I get power on both sides of the heater fuse.
I get no power on the brown wire at the heater switch, although that wire should run directly from the fuse?
When I manually supply the heater switch with +12V on the brown wire it does not run either.
When I manually supply the blue or yellow wire coming from the heater switch, it doesn't run.
When I manually supply the orange wire running to the blower motor, it does run ( at full speed).

Is this wiring scheme complete? Or are there aditional relays orso?
I fear there is a, or multiple, breaks in the cable.
The wiring loom had a fire at one point and it got replaced with a new loom from a different model afaik. ( Noticed it by some additional wires/connectors which aren't used under the hood and the abscence of the wiring for the washers to work).
It's the last thing holding me back to get it registered. ( blower motors need to work over here, as do the washers for technical inspection).

Starting to look like a car again...

Allright thanks,

I found this one :
Just after the fuse panel there looks to be a place where the wires split and then it goes to a relay before going to the heater switch.
Does anyone know what these 2 items are, or where they're located? Guessing it might be the 2 post relay just under the hood on the driver's side on the firewall?

SO, what is the S1 here? I think that'll solve a part of the problem.

Below is for a 73.
High Speed Blower Testing
Circuit #40 ORN wire from inline 30amp fuse is the common side of the high speed relay.

1) Place blower switch to high, if you have 12V on DK BLU wire at blower relay than the switch is good.
2) With blower switch to high check for power at the blower relay ORN wire, if you have 12V the fuse is good.
3) With blower switch to high check for power at the blower relay PPL wire, if you have 12V the relay is good.

Outside of wire issues there are only 4 components in the HI Blower system. 1) Console switch, 2) 30A Fuse, 3) Blower Relay and 4) Blower Motor.

You need to check for power at the blower relay and or on the back of the console switch and go from there.

I spliced in a + from a different brown wire and it still didn't work.
then I added an extra earth on the motor and got low speed.
Fuse inside the orange wire coking from the horn relay was bad too ( not blown, just lost connection due to age I guess).

Combination of these 3 made it finally work.
Then I had the joy of cleaning out the heater box. Only a few leaves.... 🙈

Leaves and stuff can be kept out of their with a little extra filtration. 1” thick fiber filter material wrapped around the existing screen; I added a sheet of activated carbon impregnated filter underneath to make it more like the modern cabin air filters.
