Hurst comp plus install, not a clue
I have a 1968 327 with a muncie m21. I purchased a new hurst comp plus. Exhaust runs down the middle. I will be lying on my back. This looks hard as hell to get done, console is out. Do I have to remove an exhaust pipe and or cross member?? any sage advice on removing the stock shifter and installing the hurst would be greatly appreciated. thanks Atlanta

Unless your car was an automatic I think your cross member is welded in. Not a fun job but we’ll worth the effort. Once installed and adjusted properly you will love the way it shifts.

I just installed a hurst on my 66. Yes the driver side exhaust had to come out in my case. I also cut down the plastic alignment pin before installing so it just cleared the levers. Then I had clearance to pull it out once the shifter was installed. More work than I thought, but I was happy with the result.
