I searched without luck but I thought I remember reading on here that a stock late c3 blower fan was a good improvement over a stock early c3 blower.
True or false?
I’m also assuming they would be a direct swap, maybe that’s not the case?
Yep, familiar with the C4 fan conversion.
I still have to run down all the causes for poor performance from the stock fan in my '71 before I go replacing stuff, but I thought I'd get the question out there so I can be armed with knowledge if I do have to replace.
I know the C4 conversion is pretty easy, but if I don't have to make an adapter, all the better!
Not sure if newer fan fits but here are some comparisons old original vs new..and some vids
i personnally don’t need more air than a 79 puts out..
and made in Canada 🇨🇦..not the chinesium one..about 3x cost..
i would also say a newer good quality fan should outperform a worn out old one..i do know for sure the off/ low speed fan setting i could hear louder than the old one so it must have be moving more air at least on low comparatively https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-working.html
I wasn't all that thrilled with the performance of my 77 fan. I did the C4 fan conversion. The 84 - 85 fan has the same wiring connection. I got a used one from the salvage yard. Noticeable difference. Helps cool the car down quicker on Hot days.
