Default idle engine

I removed my engine from my 70 vette about a year ago. I just cleaned it for cosmetic purposes. Had planned to get it back in this past fall but looks like it will not happen till this spring when weather gets better. It has been re assembled but has no fluids. Is it OK just to leave it as is until this spring?
Thanks Jim

I would fill it w/oil and prime it. In fact, run the primer for a good long while.

also put oil in each cylinder thru the spark plug holes and turn the engine over several times to spred the oil. :chevy
