Shorty header plugs?
Has anyone tried the accel shorty plugs? Just installed some longtubes on my ‘72 with a 350 and the #1 plug is almost right into the header.

typical plugs for aftermarket heads. I use platinum, iridium, or multi prong with those metals.

You can usually get ngk shorty plugs but they are not cheap.

Are you sure you purchased the right headers for your engine and heads?
Some header manufacturers make several different header designs specifically for angled plugs, raised exhaust ports, primary tube diameter, year head and head manufacturer, or just plain OEM heads.
Modern header designs usually have plenty of room for standard plugs, so you may want to double check that the headers you purchased are specific for your application.

Just standard NGK are less than 1/4 “ longer than shorties.

I have been using them for decades. Angle plug heads with Hooker side pipe headers.
