Good Mourning, I will try and get some pictures and maybe a quick video,but bought a 1981 in February,drove it twice once when I purchased it,and that was about 60 miles to get her home,realized real quick that this stock motor was not enough,so,replaced with Edelbrock E street heads,and intake,carburetor AVS carburetor,headers and HEI distributor,and new lifters and pushrods and flat rocker arms,I know should of bought roller rockers,fired it up,set timing and and she’s running very smooth,although did adjust carburetor as it said in institutions.still have a few vacum hookups,but still have not found a bracket to hook up my throttle cable or tv cable,I know Edelbrock 8041 is the bracket,but every where I look,out of stock,I think I ordered one a few weeks ago,for $70.00,but,can’t remember where I ordered it,Summit or JEGS, or speedway,but they have never taken the money out of PayPal,so not sure if I should keep waiting,although it did say would be here on the 23 of this month,but getting inpatient now.but other than that,the engine is good,and next will be doing interior,new carpet,and cover seats,everything else is good.carpet is old and faded.
LoL,well that it is,nothing yet,on the tranny,not in any hurry and will drive it a little while with the th350 in it,since it seems to run and shift fine.but did reach out to a older gentleman he’s about 75,and I even hadn’t seen him in 30 years,but long sentence short.lol......
He’s been working on transmissions for at least 50+ years that I know of,and he has a shop,but I never see anyone down there anymore,but did catch him the other day,and to my surprise he looked pretty close to as I remembered years ago,with his shoulder strap coveralls on.and told me to check with him in a few weeks and we would break it down,he had to build another boys transmission in his vette,like a 1999 or maybe early 2000’s.and was going to order a few parts,but I have a funny feeling about this transmission,like someone has already been in it,just a feeling though.time will tell.
Amazon(2 day delivery!) has some universal setups that work just fine. I can’t speak to the trans hook up, but the square gm throttle cable works great with it.
When I ran an edelbrock carb I personally used the stock set up and made some bolt on extensions using metal from ace hardware.
when I switched to a proform I used the above mentioned universal setup.

according to what ive found these wont work well with a tv cable or at least I havent found any advertised to or pics of anyone using one with it. ebay is loaded with different brackets as well. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...acket&_sacat=0
