C3p/t L48 mount question
Are the L48 eng mounts specific for the vette or will any 350 mount work? I have one that is broken. Where is the best place to buy mounts. Got the engine out and started the teardown. There are paste like copper color particals in the oil pan (similar to antisieze) so I pulled the main caps and a few rod ends but the crank and bearings look ok. The guy I bought the car from had the oil changed at a chain lube center, maybe some kid started to put the wrong lube in?????? is there a gear lube that may look like that? :smash:

I ordered the GM motor mounts PN 6258154 after having some problem getting the correct mounts from a vendor.
I had ordered mounts from a vendor and the mounts were incorrect for Corvettes. One of the forum members posted a thread about his engine mounts fitting too loosely on the frame. I had purchased the same mounts from the same vendor. Although the vendor's PN matched their catalog PN the mounts were incorrect.
The GM mounts are $$, but they fit and appear to be identical to the original mounts. You might want to check the archives for motor mounts.
