Transmission Issue Stalling in 1st
My first post was about how to get more horsepower and my second is on a transmission issue. I guess that is how it goes!
I had a weird issue that I am not sure of. I wanted to do a WOT run from a stand still. I put the shifter in first held the brake a bit and floored it while holding the brake for a breif moment. When the car took off it got to about 2000 rpms and stalled out like something was binding in the transmission.
I put it back in drive and it continued to work properly. There was a bad smell briefly like something burned a bit. The thing I can't figure out is that the transmission didn't seem like it was slipping it just held about 2000 rpms and wouldn't go any faster till I put it in drive. From there the car seemed to shift and run fine. I have done a couple WOT runs with it just in drive and it does fine.
I did check the transmission fluid today and it smells burnt and is a little darker. What would cause this?
