Update: with Lars help I just bought a rebuildable Qjet on eBay that I can send to him. That should hopefully solve the space problem where air cleaner and distributor touching/shorting because I will go back to factory air cleaner too.

Sounds like your getting it sorted. An aftermarket setup like mine isn't for everyone, and it doesn't fit under a stock hood.
