The carb pictured in your post above is a commercially rebuilt carb that has likely been assembled from various different years and makes of carbs. E-mail me for my paper about commercial rebuilds to get an idea of all the problems that carb will have. Carb number for '69 350 4-spd Vette is 7029203, and the entire number is usually stamped into the carb. The carb color and ID stamp looks like this (this is the same carb except for an automatic car):

Notice the difference on the shapes of the "0," "3," and the "9" numerals in the "real" carb shown above versus the numbers on your commercial carb. Notice also the difference in the surface texture: There's a good chance it's a mix-n-match "created" carb with a re-stamped number, and they sandblasted the surface to remove the indications of the original carb number having been ground off and re-stamped.

So, in answer to your question: A "real" 7029203 car is the correct carb for your engine. The chances of the carb shown being a real 7029203, and being the correct carb for your engine, is unlikely.

The good news is that there are still good, rebuildable, unmolested cores available at reasonable prices, so you can still obtain a good, "correct" carb for your car. Just don't buy one that has been commercially rebuilt.

Lars information always accurate and helpful as usual. I'll add that there were both a 300 hp and a 350 hp small block offered in 69. The 7026203 was for the 300 hp and 7029207 was for the 350 hp equipped with 4 speed.

That's correct. The 7029207 is an outstanding carb that was used on the L46 (350/350) cars. Real ..207 carbs are selling for over $1K, but once in a while you can find a good rebuidable core in the $250-range. There are more ...207 carbs on the market for sale right now than there were L46 engines ever built... beware. The standard 350/300 cars had the 7029202 and ...203 carbs which are still affordable.
